EyeMMV toolbox: An eye movement post-analysis tool based on a two-step spatial dispersion threshold for fixation identification
نویسندگان
چکیده
Eye tracking is a tool in scientific fields addressing the study of human vision and perception. Eye movement analysis produces indications for the understanding of human vision. The human eyes make successive movements during the observation of a visual scene or display. A fixation occurs at the moment when the eyes remain relatively stationary in a position (Poole & Ball, 2005). This moment is characterized by the miniature movements of tremors, drifts and microsaccades (Martinez-Conde, Macknik, & Hubel, 2004). In practice, the analysis considers as given fact that fixations happen in discriminant points having limited duration and dispersion. The process of identifying fixations among eye movement protocols can have a great impact on higherlevel analysis (Salvucci & Goldberg, 2000). The result of the process of identifying fixations is typically a sequence of the position, the onset time and the duration of each fixation (Salvucci, 2000).

Eye Movement based Human Recognition using Scan Path Signals
This paper is devoted for human recognition using scan path signals in eye movement analysis. Velocity and dispersion threshold based fixation identification algorithms are employed for processing the raw scan path signals in eye movement matrices. A new hybrid intelligent model is deployed for classification over data retrieved from scan-path signals. Experimental results demonstrate the endea...
متن کاملiMap4: An open source toolbox for the statistical fixation mapping of eye movement data with linear mixed modeling.
A major challenge in modern eye movement research is to statistically map where observers are looking, by isolating the significant differences between groups and conditions. As compared to the signals from contemporary neuroscience measures, such as magneto/electroencephalography and functional magnetic resonance imaging, eye movement data are sparser, with much larger variations in space acro...

متن کاملAutomatic eye fixations identification based on analysis of variance and covariance
Eye movement is the simplest and repetitive movement that enables humans to interact with the environment. The common daily activities, such as reading a book or watching television, involve this natural activity, which consists of rapidly shifting our gaze from one region to another. In clinical application, the identification of the main components of eye movement during visual exploration, s...
متن کاملEffect of Caffeine on the Fixation Component of Eye Movement in the Reading Process
Background: Caffeine is a kind of methylxanthine whose consumption can promote the cognitive and executive functions of the human brain. Objectives: In this study, we seek to investigate the effect of drinking coffee on the period of the eye movement fixation component. Materials and Methods: The research was of the quasi-experimental type. 60 subjects were randomly divided into two group...
